Ang the Summer Intern

We love our summer intern! She has a phenomenal fashion sense and smile that never stops. Ang is super fun to work with and only makes us feel old sometimes. Like when we had to explain who Christian Slater is or when our jaw dropped to the the floor when she told us she has never seen the Breakfast Club, but saw Sixteen Candles with her MOM.

Angelina Ferrara is a Communications student at Penn State University. She came to us looking for work experience in public relations and fashion and we were more than happy to oblige.

May I introduce you to Ang the Summer Intern…

What inspires you?

-I love quotes. It can be anything from a book to a movie to a historical figure. My room is covered in inspirational quotes.

What is your favorite book and why?

-My favorite book is my mom-mom’s Italian cookbook. It just gets better and better with every chapter!

What is your favorite color?

-My favorite color is Turquoise, at least I call it turquoise but it’s basically the color of the mint chalcedony that we feature.

What did you love most about your childhood?

-My grandparents on my dad’s side have a beach house in Brigantine. On certain weekends in the summer, all of our families would stay at the shore house. Together, there are 15 of us cousins, all very close in age. It was survival of the fittest in the Brigantine household and if you got a blanket and the top bunk that night then you were considered the golden grandchild. The cousins had our ups and downs at the beach house.  For example, it was the saddest day of our lives when the local candy store shut down.  The tears were short lived when we heard that an ice cream shop was opening in its place. I still love being at the shore house with my whole family, only now we’ve upgraded from Friday night candy shop visits to Friday night deck parties.

What is your favorite food?

-Any type of Sushi, I eat it all… except gas station sushi. That’s where I draw the line.

If you could only keep one thing in your closet, what would it be?

-I would HAVE to keep my Hunter rain boots. They’re cool black boots with a riding boot fit and a burgundy top. They’re definitely a staple in my wardrobe. I honestly wear them when it’s not raining.

What was your favorite jam in high school?

-I absolutely LOVED the song “The Great Escape” by Boys Like Girls. It was my stress reliever song.  I used to play it on repeat when I would go for a run.

What are you known for?

-I’m known for having a much bigger wardrobe than my closet can hold.

What makes you tick?

-I want to do well in my life but I also want to be able to wake up every morning and love what I do. I believe in the saying: “If you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life.” That motivates me to get where I want to be.

Something quirky that very few people know about you.

-I am extremely clumsy… To the point where my mom decided to only give me sympathy once a week

Lunch with a Philadelphia News Anchor

Tracy Davidson2
This week, I had the most amazing lunch with Tracy Davidson, morning anchor of NBC10 News Today in Philadelphia. Originally, I had wanted to discuss on-air styling and the new Stone + Pearl jewelry collection. However, it was much more interesting to hear about her philanthropic involvement in the Philadelphia area. Tracy donates much of her time and resources to Philabundance, a regional organization providing food to individuals in need. In addition, she often gives motivational speeches for a number of  women’s organizations. Tracy is passionate about helping women feel empowered, both personally and professionally. She began her speaking series over a decade ago, to teach women how to transform their lives by efficiently focusing their time, energy and attention, as well as, embracing their true self.
I watch Tracy almost every morning on the news. I admit, I was a bit nervous to have lunch with a TV personality! But she put me at ease with her openness and thoughtfulness. Tracy is an inspiration to all women and it was truly a pleasure to meet with her.

Scenes from a Photo Shoot

We could not have asked for better weather for our second photo shoot for Stone + Pearl Bridal (however we could have done without the million and one bugs). We spent the afternoon at Ralph Stover State Park with Tinicum Creek as our backdrop. We had the opportunity to work again with Robyn Graham Photography. Robyn is a joy to be around and, more importantly, her work is amazing. Courtney Conway, previous Top Model contestant, modeled the jewelry. She broke the news that she just got engaged 2 weeks ago!! Perfect timing. Her sweet mother attended the shoot and was glowing with excitement to see her little girl in a wedding dress. We, too, are glowing with excitement because the shoot was PERFECT. We even grabbed a cute fisherman and his dog to pose for us!

We wanted to share some of the action behind the scenes…
